I read about
the veteran memorials in your magazine
and could not help but think of our Gold
Star Parents Monument. It is in front of
a building across from the entrance of
Islip McArthur Airport here in Bohemia,
Long Island, New York.
It's not a veterans
memorial, but it's here because of those
who made the supreme sacrifice. The monument
used to have a dove in the father's hand
that looked like it was about to fly away,
but vandals took care of that.
